DENIA KIRK

Beauty is a dynamic event that occurs between you and something else. Beauty can spontaneously occur at any moment given the proper circumstances, context, or point of view. Beauty is thus an altered state of consciousness, an extraordinary moment of poetry and grace.
   ~ Leonard Koren

The element that interests Denia most about any form of art, is the ephemeral connection made with the viewer, and the diverse responses created within each of us. Her work combines a fearless use of color with a heavy dose of expressionism, and often includes inscriptions and interesting textures, as well as a component of collage to boost the dynamic energy of the piece.

Denia has been sharing her love of art with children in area schools for eleven years. The focus of her program is to help her students envision their own infinite possibilities, using the most powerful tool in any field of study ~ their imagination. She feels honored to be teaching at Webb Lower School, and to be a part of ArtXtravaganza. Her work has also been featured in ARTitude Auction for the Cancer Society, and Art Takes Time Square in Manhattan.

Denia values creative endeavors of any kind, and is very active in the local theatrical community. In her free time, Denia stays busy singing in a rock band, The Traffic Jam, and also performing with a smaller music montage group known as XO.
